The average salary for a business development director ranges from $88,000 to $168,000 depending on the type of organization. Non-profit organizations offer salary average that ranges from $60,000 t0 $118,000 while private companies pay on the average $74,000 to $132,000.

As an assistant, your prime function is to attract new customers to buy the company’s products and/or services to increase sales and company revenue. The objective of an assistant is to introduce goods and products to customers and close the deal with a sale. Other than giving support to the business development team, mandatory tasks such as office administrative tasks- capturing client information, correspondence and communicate with top management new development ideas are some of the features and functions of this job. Companies seek applicants with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or experience in direct sales. The job outlook for these business development jobs including employment in marketing, advertising, public relations, and sales managers is very promising with an expected increase of 13 percent through 2018. Business development assistants are being paid on the average around $35,809 to $71,494 as of July 2010.
