Shawmut is seeking a senior level business development professional who has 10 years of business development experience in the construction industry with established relationships in the Boston Academic, Healthcare and Life Science arena. The overall goal is to support the business strategy through client pipeline generation in order to meet sales and profit targets.
This position will work closely with senior leadership to develop and implement winning strategies for acquiring new project opportunities in the greater Boston market. 
For decades, Shawmut has been building alluring architectural spaces for an extensive list of prominent clients, in the Corporate, Academic, Luxury Retail, Residential, Hospitality, Sports Venues and Healthcare and Life Science sectors.  Recent projects include: Billerica Memorial High School, Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University, Roger Williams University\u2019s SECCM Labs, and WPI\u2019s Foisie Innovation Studio and Messenger Residence Hall.  Other notable clients include Harvard University, Yale University, MIT, Apple, Soho House, Intercontinental Hotel, Petco Park \u2014just to name a few.

Generate leads and market activity to position Shawmut for strategic opportunities in the Academic, Healthcare and Life Science sectors of the industry.
Manage and expand existing network of clients, key industry influencers and organizations to generate pipeline opportunities to meet annual revenue goals and position Shawmut in the greater Boston marketplace.
Participate fully in the development, implementation and achievement of the annual sales strategy including specific market initiatives.
Participate in the development of the proposal and marketing materials to enhance efficiency of the proposal process and the quality of finished products.
Develop and maintain strategic design, client, and owner's representative relationships in line with Shawmut\u2019s strategic goals.


Must have an established network of existing Academic, Health Care and Life Science relationships in the greater Boston area related to construction, commercial real estate, and architecture/engineering.
10 years of proven business development results leading to sales closings in a construction services setting.
Experience managing prospect and market using Sales Management Database
Must reside in the greater Boston area and have the ability to travel
Minimum Bachelor\u2019s degree required
