The Senior Director, Business Development, effectively identifies and pursues new business opportunities for the solutions business of Advanced Clinical while enhancing relationships with existing clients of Advanced Clinical. The Senior Director, Business Development, keeps abreast of industry trends, competitors' services and acquisitions, and works in conjunction with the operations team to develop and respond to new business opportunities. The Senior Director, Business Development, is responsible for the achievement of sales goals specifically for the solutions business (CRO, FSP, Quality). He/she will be responsible for directly generating business leads, sales prospects, capability meetings/presentations and RFPs in order to achieve maximum sales and revenue goals. This individual will collaborate with marketing, sales support, project management, proposals, and other support organizations to drive Solution sales and profitability.
Achieve CRO and FSP individual sales goals
Secure new client relationships in order to expand client base, build awareness
Develop and maintain long-term client relationships to ensure repeat business
Achieve, monitor and track sales including weekly reporting on sales activities, capabilities presentations, RFPs and other sales related data
Plan, strategize and deliver presentations
Champion the development and delivery of client requested RFIs and RFPs
Enter all client information, conversations and activity in e-Recruit or applicable systems
Manage internal and external client relationships
Track drug development pipelines, within territory, in order to ensure sales success
Adhere to Advanced Clinical Employee Handbook and SOP's
Adhere to strict code of confidentiality as it relates to study subjects, sponsors, physicians, and policies and procedures of Advanced Clinical
Provide excellent customer service to all parties involved in the clinical study process.
Bachelor's degree in business or healthcare related field
Ten plus years of sales experience within a CRO (preferred) and/ or clinical trials environment, FSP sales history
Strong presence and confidence during presentations to customers
Strong relationships within pharmaceutical, biotech and/ or device companies
Knowledge of the industry, competitors, and sales benchmarks
Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales goals in a clinical service environment
Proven business development experience in cultivating and nurturing key relationships
Consultative and collaborative approach when dealing with customers and internal team members
Hands-on, collaborative style
Data-driven and focused on results over activity
Present a professional company image and presence
Outstanding organizational and communication skills with ability to effectively communicate and sell his/her ideas at all levels. Listens well and seeks input from others.
Proven ability to generate new ideas, processes, and strategies to improve the department and ensure the success of sales for the company
Knowledge of the industry, inclusive of competitors
Unquestionable personal integrity
Computer skills including Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
