As a member of the New Business Development team, you develop new product initiatives with our Product, Engineering, Marketing and Partnerships teams. You're a true thought leader who can find, digest and share industry trends and key influencers. You open doors with potential partners, chat with them about their businesses and present these opportunities to our senior leaders. In doing so, you help discover and shape some of Google's boldest ventures.

Google’s Communications Products enable rich communications via text, voice, and video for Google’s users around the world through a variety of products and services. Partnerships are a critical part of this fast-paced, complex, and strategic product area, and the Communications team is looking for a Business Development Manager to help drive and manage a range of partnerships across multiple products and regions. The Communications Business Development team develops and manages relationships, both large and small, with wireless carriers, device manufacturers, developers and application providers, content providers and a wide range of technology partners. Specific knowledge of communications technologies, embedded services, and platform development would be differentiators.

You possess strong relationship-building skills and are effective at communicating with both business and technical leaders. You are comfortable balancing multiple priorities, understanding products at a technical level, developing and executing strategic plans, making independent judgments, working across functions with internal and external partners, negotiating partnership agreements, and managing long-term partner relationships. You will have fun, learn a lot, and work with great colleagues on a range of widely used and engaging Communications products.

Responsibilities

Manage and develop strategic technology partnerships with partners from device manufacturers (OEMs), distributors (ODMs) and/or silicon vendors (SoCs) in order to drive success for the RCS and carrier communications program.

Lead the consultation and implementation of agreements with external partners.

Identify strategic opportunities with partners based on developing products/features.

Work with senior leaders and operating teams internally across Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, UX, Legal, Finance, and Partnerships for related product areas.

Be the primary point of contact relevant to RCS/Communications for a number partners; facilitate communication between the partners and internal product/engineering teams, coordinate and lead QBRs, provide input into product strategy based on partner insights.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

5 years of experience in a relevant field, managing third-party relationships.

Demonstrated experience of successful partner development and management.

Preferred qualifications:

MBA or other relevant advanced degree.

Demonstrated record of cross-functional collaboration.

Proven track record of successful partner development and management.

Excellent business development, project management, analytical and communications skills.
