The Covanta Environmental Solutions (CES) Healthcare Solutions segment is looking expand its team to hire a Business Development Manager that will develop partnerships with companies providing waste management services to the healthcare sector.
The Covanta Environmental Solutions new Medical Waste Program is rapidly gaining industry wide recognition as the leader in safety, compliance and environmental sustainability. The Business Development Manager position will source, develop, on-board and maintain healthcare service provider accounts for the management and disposition of Regulated Medical Waste at the two Covanta facilities that are permitted to receive untreated waste and for the management and disposition of Treated Medical Waste at over 20 Covanta facilities.
This is a work from home/ nearby Covanta facility position and can be located anywhere nationally. This position requires 75% travel, primarily to the Northeast and Southeast Region. The target market involves healthcare waste management service providers that are seeking sustainable Energy-from-Waste (EfW) disposal services for treated medical waste and regulated medical waste.
The successful candidate will identify potential opportunities with the right target client based on the CES Healthcare Solutions value proposition and market needs and then develop these opportunities into long term partnerships. The candidate will collaborate with various level of Operations, Environment, Health and Safety and Customer Care in developing customized solutions to meet the needs of service provides to the Healthcare Services sector.
Manage existing business: Collaborate with operations and Customer Care to service the existing client business needs.
Expand existing business: Expand existing business and identify opportunities to cross-sell services to existing clients.
Analytical development for new business opportunities: Analyze market conditions, identify key targets and develop new business opportunities to grow treated and regulated medical waste revenues for CES.
Maintain a high level of market intelligence for the sector.
Forecast and budget: Actively input, communicate and work with management on monthly forecast and annual budget process for CES Healthcare Solutions.
Perform other duties as required.
Undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing or Sales along with relevant industry experience.
5 years’ experience in account management in the Hazardous or Non-hazardous waste industry preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and creative skills.
Strong sales and negotiation techniques.
The ability to work effectively with people at all levels and be an influencer.
The ability to collaborate and work well within a team as well as independently and also exhibit competent leadership skills.
The ability to manage both complex eternal client relationships and equally complex internal operational relationships.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate the CES Healthcare Solutions value proposition across all levels of the client organization.
Desire to work in a fast-paced, highly regulated and technical industry.
Travel – nationally up to 75%.
