Job Description Summary The Sr. Team Performance Manager ( located in the Western region of the US ) serves as the West Region customer team financial controller and ensures team performance goals are met within the established DSMPA guidelines. The role advises the Region Director of risks and opportunities within the business to maximize customer results, and maintains customer team scorecards. Key internal interfaces are extensive and include the following: Director, Regional Sales Managers, Category Sales Planning Managers, the Business Development Manager, Finance counter-parts, Supply Chain counter-parts, Broker Partners and Customers. The individual will be responsible for leading sales planning activities, reporting and sales planning tool deployment and management and for TPM tool utilization and optimization. This position may require up to 20% business travel. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan Development & Implementation Develops coherent & cohesive plans that are practical & meet broader business objectives Applies business planning and implementation in methodical but flexible manner Knows when to stay with the plan and when the plan needs to be changed and communicates the rationale to the team Can be counted on to follow through on the implementation of a plan, monitor progress, and address gaps or issues in implementation Translates the Bel Brands business plan to what a particular customer wants and needs Helps identify gaps to develop opportunities Engages the customer in strategic thinking, rather than just on a transactional basis Develops tactics based on strategic direction Maintains the discipline to keep the organization on strategy Adapts business plan to changes in customer strategy Consumer & Shopper Understanding Develops and implements strategies and tactics to enhance consumer and shopper value and loyalty to Bel Brands Incorporates relevant consumer insights in support of his\/her proposals and recommendations Routinely uses consumer analysis and data in day-to-day decision-making and work to support category leadership initiatives. Determines what consumer information is relevant to a particular customer based on his\/her understanding of the customer\u2019s needs, issues, challenges and strategies Bases decisions on proven consumer insights rather than personal beliefs Understands how to define a particular customer\u2019s shopper and what account specific initiatives will drive results and maximize ROI Reviews opportunities to use consumer understanding to give Bel Brands a competitive advantage Financial Implications Understands the drivers of the Bel Brands P&L, the customers\u2019 P&L and the linkage between strategy and P&L Anticipates how his\/her sales activity and proposals will impact both Bel Brands and the customer\u2019s P&L and balances those concerns Understands what drives market share and uses that knowledge in planning actions Understands marketing margin and cost per incremental Understands cost to serve Pricing Understands the cost drivers that can be manipulated to deliver a particular goal Understands the effects of raw material markets and how changes impact threshold cost impact Understands how account\u2019s pricing, promotional strategies, and the competitive environment impact forecast and plan Forecasting Makes profitable pricing decisions Understands what drives sales volume and accurately forecasts future sales volume, revenue, profit, trade rate and sales allowances based on analysis of available data Understands seasonal selling and future impact of forecasting and shipments Financial Planning & Analysis Understands the cost drivers that can be manipulated to deliver a particular goal Develops sales plans and proposals which balance expected ROI and likely volume lift Learns from and helps customer learn from the results of recent events Uses analytic tools to test various promotional scenarios to determine best opportunities for Bel Brands and the customer Resource Management Determines the resources required to drive strategies and initiatives Qualifications and Competencies Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor degree and\/or equivalent experience; MBA preferred 10-15 years of experience in food or CPG industry in a sales, category sales planning or marketing role Customer Team leadership experience preferred Strong Category Leadership and sales planning tool management background Specific competencies required: Persuasive leader with the ability to clearly communicate expectations and motivate peers and subordinates to action Excellent communication skills; understands audience and adjusts communication to drive desired results Advanced computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office Strong project management skills Language skills: proficient written and spoken English required Ability to prioritize and lead through change Bel Brands is an equal employment opportunity employer.
