The Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition announced on Thursday, August 7, that it helped create 1,072 jobs in the first half of 2008. The company claims this contributed to a projected combined capital investment of $200.5 million.
The GWEDC is a public and private partnership that has helped with three major expansion projects this year, including work for the Cessna Aircraft Company’s Citation Columbus project, eServ, and Spin Systems.
The company has been around since 2004 and has participated in 52 completed projects with 49 different companies, representing over 10,000 jobs. Such successes have put the company almost 2,000 jobs ahead of its five-year goal of 8,000 jobs.
