Deluxe Corporation, a company which
makes and distributes a wide range of customized printed items such as checks and business cards, will be closing its
manufacturing plant in Greensboro within a year.
The company, which employs 117 people, expects to close in the second half of 2009. Business is expected to proceed as usual with no company interruptions or delays.
Lee Schram, CEO of Deluxe, said in a press release, “Lower production volumes, driven by the impact of a weak economy on our small business services segment, required us to take a close look at our overall footprint in order to improve our operating efficiency and reduce costs.”
Deluxe Corporation said it will provide eligible employees with severance benefits, outplacement assistance, and the opportunity to apply for other open positions within the company.
