The Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved a “Fast Track” application for a
distribution center near Palm Springs, California. The 64 acres of unincorporated land could soon be home to the I-10 Distribution Center.
Authorization by Supervisor Marion Ashley has allowed the plans to be expedited through the county planning and other departments. The 1.4 million-square-foot center represents a $60 million-dollar capital investment. It is estimated to provide 900 new jobs and 200 new
construction jobs.
The development would be a major non-governmental, non-gaming employer in the valley. Estimates of the costs for the center are still being worked out, and it is estimated to take as long as two years to complete.
