Heads of the nation’s biggest companies are taking it upon themselves to gather and right the economic ship from within their respective industries.
The summit is a response to the meeting of the Detroit Economic Club, where industry leaders voiced a need for action to stop the economic decline.
In efforts to support economic wellbeing, the summit will bring about a crossover from various industries with a common goal: the future.
Set for June of 2009, the meeting will be held in Detroit at Ford Field, with $2 million in sponsorship money from 50 organizations funding the event. This first-of-its-kind convention is already expected to draw over 5,000 company leaders. Names like GM, Chrysler, AT&T, Motorola, and IBM have all shown their support for the summit.
