A business development vice president will look after the given company's national and international business development by properly planning business strategies. A business development vice president is responsible for overseas mergers, acquisitions, and organic and inorganic growth. The business development vice president reports directly to the CEO and updates senior executives on the company's affairs, a responsibility for which he or she should possess immense communications, presentation, and negotiation skills. Apart from managerial skills, a business development vice president must also have technological knowledge for rapid and easy overseas communications and development.The individual aspiring to become a business development vice president must have a sound academic background, an MBA from a reputed university, and a minimum 10 years of result-oriented experience with a respected company. A business development vice president must also be ready to travel extensively in any part of the world. Lastly, a business development vice president should be self-motivated, energetic, and have problem solving capabilities, along with analytical and quantitative skills.
